A scaffolding ladder is specifically designed for use with scaffolding. Scaffolding ladders are typically fabricated from long-lasting materials such as steel and designed to attach securely to the scaffolding system, allowing workers to safely access areas that have been elevated. There are also multi-purpose ladders, which can be put into a scaffold configuration or a safety zone working platform, that are typically used for smaller-scale projects.
AJ Scaffolding offers a wide range of wooden, aluminium, and steel ladders in common sizes to suit most projects. We also offer custom-made ladders for special requirements.

Standard: 2.5m, 3.0m
Long: 4.0m, 5.0m
Common Styles
- Standard Ladder: This is the most basic and common type, typically used for simple climbing up and down. They are lightweight and easy to install on the vertical poles of a scaffold.
- Platform Ladder: This type of ladder features a small platform at the top, providing a safer and more spacious standing area for workers. It's particularly useful for carrying tools or performing long tasks.
- Hook-On Ladder: This type of stairs is designed to quickly and securely attach to the horizontal poles of a scaffold, requiring no additional fixings and making installation and removal extremely easy.
- Handrail Ladder: This type of ladder features handrails on both sides for added support and safety. It's particularly suitable for workers working at height or who need to move up and down frequently.
Technical Specifications
Materials:
- High-strength aluminum alloy (6061-T6): One of the lightest-weight materials available exhibits corrosion resistance, enabling its use in situations where moving and sailing might be more likely to occur (wet environments).
- High-strength Q235B carbon steel: This alloy steel, which is hot-dip galvanizing or powder-coating treatment, has a good weight-bearing capacity and is very weather resistant, making an excellent and economical material for heavy construction sites.
Load Capacity:
- Rated load: 225 kg (approximately 500 lbs). Compliant with OSHA and ANSI standards, it can safely carry two workers and their tools.
- Ultimate load: 450 kg (approximately 1000 lbs). Static load tested to ensure safety in extreme conditions.
Anti-slip Design:
- Tread pattern: Unique diamond-shaped raised anti-slip treads increase friction and provide a secure grip even in wet or oily conditions.
- End Pads: The ladder is equipped with wear-resistant rubber or polyurethane anti-slip pads on the bottom to prevent slipping on smooth floors and protect the floor from damage.
Connection Method:
- Quick Lock Mechanism: Equipped with self-locking hooks or wedge-shaped connectors, the ladder can be quickly and securely locked to the scaffolding rails. No additional tools are required, greatly improving installation efficiency.
Product Certifications:
- Meets or exceeds the following international standards:
- US OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration)
- European EN 131 (European Standard for Ladders)
- Australia/New Zealand AS/NZS 1892.1
Surface Treatment:
- Hot-dip galvanizing: For steel ladders, it provides long-term rust protection and is suitable for outdoor and harsh weather environments.
- Anodizing: For aluminum ladders, it enhances surface hardness and wear resistance while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
