Materials and Construction
- Typically made of high-quality carbon steel, with Q235 or Q345 available.
- The outer diameter of the main pipe is typically 48 mm.
- The most common wall thickness is 3.25 mm, with 2.75 mm and 3.0 mm thicknesses also available.
- At each end, the australian type ledgers feature two sets of "thumbs" and "wedges" (also called wedge pins) that connect to the V-clips welded onto the Kwikstage standards (vertical posts). This interlocking design provides a rigid and secure connection.
Sizes and Lengths
Australian Type Kwikstage Ledgers come in a range of standard lengths to accommodate different bay sizes in a scaffold structure. Common lengths include:
- 1460mm
- 1960mm
- 2460mm
Surface Treatment
To prevent corrosion and extend service life, we offer the following surface treatments:
- Hot-Dip Galvanizing (HDG)
- Powder Coating
- Painting
Compliance and Standards
Australian Type Kwikstage Ledgers are manufactured and tested to comply with strict Australian and international scaffolding standards to ensure safety and performance. These typically include:
- AS/NZS 1576 (Australian/New Zealand Standards for Scaffolding)
- BS 1139 (British Standard for Scaffolding)
- EN74-1:2005 Class B (European Standard for Couplers, Clamps, and Baseplates for use in Temporary Works Equipment)
- EN12810/EN12811 (European Standards for Scaffolds)
- WorkSafe certification is also common in Australia.
Function in Scaffolding
Our Kwikstage Diagonal Braces are indispensable for a wide range of scaffolding applications, including:

☆ Horizontal Support: Ledgers form the horizontal members of the scaffold bays, connecting the vertical standards.
☆ Guardrails: They often serve as guardrails to provide fall protection for workers on the platforms.
☆ Support for Transoms and Planks: Ledgers support transoms (which run perpendicular to ledgers) and scaffolding planks, creating the working platforms.
